Treasury Yields Today: Bond Markets Hit Multi-Year Highs on Inflation Fears

Treasury yields today stayed close to multi-year highs as investors reacted to rising oil prices and renewed inflation concerns. The U.S. 30-year Treasury yield approached its highest level since 2007, while the 10-year yield remained near an 18-month high after markets sharply reduced expectations for interest-rate cuts.

The move followed a surge in crude oil prices driven by escalating Middle East tensions, increasing concerns that higher energy costs could keep inflation elevated. Investors also continued to assess new U.S. tariffs and their potential impact on global growth and consumer prices.

Bond markets are now focused on next week’s Federal Reserve meeting, where policymakers are expected to provide updated guidance on inflation and the future path of interest rates.
