Sabadell Earnings: Spanish Bank Raises Profit Outlook After Strong Results
Sabadell earnings were stronger than expected as the Spanish lender reported a 28% increase in second-quarter net profit and raised its outlook for profitability and lending income through 2027. The improved guidance follows the bank’s decision to focus on a standalone strategy after agreeing to sell its UK unit, TSB.
Despite a slight decline in net interest income caused by lower borrowing costs, Sabadell said stronger loan growth, improved efficiency, and resilient customer activity supported its overall performance. Management expects lending income to recover in the coming quarters while maintaining solid returns for shareholders.
The updated forecast reinforces confidence in the European banking sector as financial institutions adapt to changing interest-rate conditions and continued economic uncertainty.
